1. Who we are

Nordic Wood Relaxation is an independent music project that publishes original relaxation music. In this policy, “Nordic Wood Relaxation”, “we” and “us” refer to that project. We are responsible for the information described here.

2. This website

nordicwoodrelaxation.com is a small informational website. It has no user accounts, no sign-in, no forms and no comment features. It does not set cookies and does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or third-party scripts or fonts.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you requested. We do not use this information to identify or profile visitors.

3. If you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it only to read and reply to you, and keep it only as long as the conversation needs. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), which processes messages under the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Google and YouTube data

Nordic Wood Relaxation operates a private internal tool that uses YouTube API Services to view information about our own YouTube channel. This section explains what it accesses and how that information is handled.

Whose data

The tool is used only by Nordic Wood Relaxation, signed in with our own Google account, to access our own YouTube channel. It is not a public application: visitors cannot sign in to it, and it does not access anyone else’s Google or YouTube account.

What it can access

Access is granted by the channel owner through Google’s standard consent screen, and is limited to two read-only permissions:

• View your YouTube account (youtube.readonly). Used to confirm which channel access was granted for, and to read details of that channel’s own videos: for example titles, descriptions, publishing status, duration and public statistics such as view counts.
• View YouTube Analytics reports for your YouTube content (yt-analytics.readonly). Used to read analytics for our channel, such as views, watch time, audience retention, traffic sources and impressions. YouTube provides this information in aggregated form; it does not identify individual viewers.

The tool does not request your name, email address or Google profile, and it has no permission to upload, edit or delete anything on YouTube. The only action it takes beyond reading is asking YouTube to prepare its standard bulk analytics reports for our own channel, so that they can be downloaded.

Why we use it

To understand how our own releases are found and listened to, and to use that understanding for reporting, research and planning better music. We do not use it for advertising.

Storage, security and retention

• Channel data is stored privately on computers and storage controlled by Nordic Wood Relaxation. Only we have access to it.
• Authorisation credentials are kept in the operating system’s encrypted credential store on our own computer. They are never placed in this website, in source code or in shared documents, and short-lived access tokens are held in memory only while the tool runs.
• We keep channel data for as long as it is useful for understanding our channel’s history, and we delete or refresh stored API data as the YouTube API Services policies require.
• We take reasonable care to protect this data, but no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share Google or YouTube data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train generalised artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. We would disclose it only if required to by law.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Nordic Wood Relaxation’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

YouTube and Google terms

Use of YouTube is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access

Any Google account holder can review and remove a third-party app’s access to their account at any time on the Google security settings page: myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Cookies and your device

Neither this website nor the tool stores, reads or collects information on visitors’ devices, including through cookies.

5. Your rights

Where data protection law such as the EU or UK GDPR applies, you may have the right to ask for access to, correction or deletion of personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. To make a request, email us. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We process the limited personal data described here on the basis of our legitimate interests in running this website securely and replying to messages.

6. Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes, such as any new kind of Google data being accessed, will be reflected here before they take effect.
